Re: When will SE Texas see our first cool/cold front?
Interesting disco this morning from HGX: THE EXTENDED RANGE FORECAST REMAINS INTRIGUING AS THE GFS/ECMWF/CANADIAN ALL HINT AT A FRONT PUSHING INTO SE TX LATE MON THROUGH WED OF NEXT WEEK. THE ECMWF HAS A SECOND STRONGER FRONTAL PUSH NEXT WED/THU. SINCE THIS FRONT WILL MOST LIKELY HAVE A TOUGH TIME P...

Dr Neil Frank would say this over and over and over!!!

Re: When will SE Texas see our first cool/cold front?
I know Wxdata knows this, but I am thinking the first cool front usually hits us the second or last week of September. Now, I could totally be wrong.....

Boy many posters on Storm2k are really buying into the "East east...going east scenario". The system is not in the Gulf and boy oh boy. It is always going to be a east vs. west war on that board. You can tell the people who think it is moving west and will hit the west gulf usually are re...

Re: TD3 forms per NHC 11 a.m. advisory 7/22/2010
And the 2:00 models flip flops it back to Louisiana......I wish it would make up it's mind.... Its not even in the GOM - we will see this time and time again. What you want to see is trend in model runs...the same location for 3-4 runs - then the models have a better idea. If not even in the GOM......

Re: TD3 forms per NHC 11 a.m. advisory 7/22/2010
i think its time for people of southeast texas to start making preparations for a possible cat1 or 2 hurricane...just my opinion I agree, but I would still take a watch and see attitude. I think ( to quote Dan and Wxman57) we should just go over our hurricane preparedness lists and make sure everyth...

Re: TD3 forms per NHC 11 a.m. advisory 7/22/2010
From Air Force Met on another channel. He is seriously busy right now as is Wxman57: TUTT's are always badly forecated by the models. One does better by simply observing it for a time and making their own forecast. I think it will back far enough away by Saturday to allow for some development....may...

Re: INVEST 95L GOM Back to Code yellow but who really knows
i am starting to think that the center of circulation is still over water   Since this afternoon I've been watching the system using two radars (LIX & LCH.) The center is right on the coast moving west northwestward (which at that position is paralleling the coastline. Is this the...

Re: July Weather Discussion
Rain slowly tapering off across the region this evening. 00z RAOB from CRP shows a PW value of 3.0''! I do not remember ever seeing precip water values that high before. LCH is currently sitting at a dry 2.44' This is just killing my running. I mean just taking my miles to the woodshed. Please Mr Ra...

This is one pro met's list of his favorite models ( I am almost positive he posts here too..) Txagwxman: I think the reason why, is because so many people post models out there that shouldn't be even posted. Over the long haul my model choices are: 1) ECMWF 2) UKMET 3) GFS/GFDL 4) HWRF--but new vers...
