September 2025
Nice mixdown this afternoon, keeping the heat index below 100° with DPs near 60°F again. Unfortunately the SE wind will bring humidity back this evening.
Summer's last grasp.

Unfortunately its looking like the return of mid 90’s for a good chunk of september, drier conditions looking to be coming back as well, summer 2.0 is here to stay for a bit longer
Pretty sure summer will be here for another 6 weeks. Long time to go yet.
There's a lot of mid-level moisture from Lorraine and off the Gulf of Baja...and it's streaming into west Texas. Lorraine is drifting off the Baja peninsula but her southern sector is being sheared and throwing SW mid-level winds over Pacific and warm Gulf of Baja...and then over the Mexican mountains toward Texas as the westerlies are picking up. The amount of tropical energy is likely considerably less that Chantal, but something to keep a wary eye out as clouds move our way. That air was freakin' juicy this morning. All surfaces were fogged up with dew.
Pacific moisture + a triggering frontal boundary during the weekend in Texas. No problem, right? Right?

I doubt our area will see much rain this weekend, but I hope I’m wrong.DoctorMu wrote: ↑Fri Sep 05, 2025 11:30 am There's a lot of mid-level moisture from Lorraine and off the Gulf of Baja...and it's streaming into west Texas. Down to 20% now for Saturday. Sunday could be wet though.Brazoriatx979 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 04, 2025 6:38 am is Saturday looking like rain for the Kingwood area? Family wants to go to the pickle festival
And just like that, the 60% rain chances for Sunday that were advertised all week — down to 30%.
Incoming. But not impressive and the air looks way too stable outside.
Could be wrong, but feels like a bust.

I picked up 1.9” this afternoon from a random pop up. Maybe more tomorrow!
the mess of showers missed us, but at least the temp. did not get above 90°F.
