The official month of Fall. What shall it bring? Tropical mischief? Cooler weather?

EPO stays negative through mid september so should see continued cooler air intrusions into the central and eastern US , also looks to be a fairly wet month so need to watch the tropics as well

Front stalled in the Gulf in early September.
No worries, right?

If history has any telling. Hurricane Alicia formed that way. Likely many other hurricanes have formed from frontal boundries before records were kept. Some likely could of been Category 5 hurricane.

Another excellent example of a hurricane forming in the N Central Gulf from a stalled front is 1977 Hurricane Anita. Thankfully it did not move NW toward the Upper TX Coast. Instead Anita drifted W and WSW while intensifying making landfall in NE Mexico as a 175 MPH CAT 5. A few years later the same setup with CAT 3 Alicia however she visited the Upper TX Coast instead of NE Mexico.

67°F low this morning. The walk/run yesterday evening was outstanding.
DP is back up to 70°F today.

Part of that cooler in Minnesota just might make to Texas next midweek or at least lower DPs and upper 80s. 70% chance of showers on Sunday as the FROPA approaches and Lorena moisture could be in play. I would prepare as if Lorena's moisture will visit the Hill Country and potential SETX. October 1994 - that's all I have to say.
