Ah there it goes. I think I wasn't seeing the last 3-4 frames on NHCs IR graphic.

Quite the disco for a moderate TS. Good explanation on what occurred earlier with the eye like feature.
Otherwise basically status quo through landfall.

^Awesome images. Should see surge continuing through high tide, then again tomorrow am.
We're seeing steady light rain now. Those tiny tropical droplets!

As the southern part of the storm is almost done pulsing down it looks like the northern part will try again. Visible imagery is looking a touch better. Recon isn't far off and there should be new obs within a hour.

It’s shocking how little moisture there is behind that initial feeder band. Is the dry air eliminating all the feeder bands?

No real dry air behind the first band. The 2nd band is approaching Beaumont in a few hours.
Beta is more of a bar galaxy than spiral galaxy so far.

I had 1.10” just today. It’s the weather channel after all... I miss the days they were actually about weather! Now it’s just a reality tv show with some biased news in between.
Anyways, Beta is holding together, tonight will be interesting to see if it can flare up again or stay the course.

Yeah - a soon to be nearly stalled tropical system on the Texas Gulf coast. What could possibly go wrong?davidiowx wrote: ↑Sun Sep 20, 2020 7:02 pmI had 1.10” just today. Considering I got about .4 inch of rain from a moderate band, expect more than that amount given the next few days.
