Nope, no snow for us this weekend. Models keep trending warmer for Christmas and early next week. New Euro is up to 10-15F warmer for next week. GFS is certainly warmer (no freeze). Christmas is looking mostly cloudy with lows in the lower 40s and highs in the low 50s. GFS, Euro and Canadian all agree on those temps now.

A little off topic but I got a question for the forecasters. After Christmas (next week) I plan on taking the family on quick get away. Are y'all seeing any good storm systems across Colorado some time next week? I know their is plenty of snow to be seen up there but I want to see it actually falling from the sky. :D

I wouldn't trust the guidance regarding next week as far as I could throw you, redneckweather. :P That said a more zonal flow is depicted and a decrease in upper lows dropping so far south is expected at this time. Perhaps late in the period a robust U/L will cross the Southern Rockies. Head to New Mexico. Another Winter Storm is expected late this week and they scored well with the current storm and totals are much better than Colorado... ;)

Definitely not opposed to New Mexico one bit. I know models are not trusty worthy that far out. If work wasn't an issue, I would take off with the family right now since I see another storm system is expected across Colorado this Wednesday and into Thursday dropping in from the north. This one looks to pull in some pretty cold air down across the Rockies as well with some pretty decent snow totals in the mountains and across the plains as well. Hmmmm, is work really that important? :D

yep, I'm getting the hell out of Houston for a couple weeks in January and going 'Severe' Winter Weather Hunting... Probably Colorado, but I may go into Montana or Washington and look for 72 plus inchers deep in the mountains.
