And the plus side, we have gotten our homes and property ready for winter weather, so, this next one, we can just enjoy it without making any winter preps.

I think I'm going to have to hang out on this forum exclusively. The S2K Texas Winter 2025-2026 forum has been invaded by Okies. Poor soooners apparently don't know how to set up their own forum... but I expect even if they did they'd still hang out with the cool kids on the Texas board. Please note that I have several Okie friends and I have no problem with them lurking on our forum, but they have pretty much commandeered the forum to rag about only maybe getting a foot of snow this weekend. Sheesh.

My forecasted low for Monday morning is 18°F.

Also, the end of next week looks really cold as well! Ensembles back it up too.

14°F here. The shallow polar air is being handled poorly. Significant effects through NW Harris Co. for me. Rain to freezing rain and sleet. It's better than 100°F. But I'd rather it did its thing and moved on. I saw this dozens of times in NC.

12z GFS has some backside snow to at least Hearne. There's rain...then we're dry slotted avoiding some freezing rain. Then freezing rain/sleet and maybe a snow finish.

There's a lot less warm nose in the end of the month event, as expected with a cooled off atmosphere.. Can we get the freezing line south enough? Major central and north Texas snow.

We don't have exposed pipes except for the outside faucet (cover is on) and we're on a slab not a foundation. Long power outages are the main concern. I'll have the water dripping for 2-3 days. We'll be 10°F warmer than 2021.

I think we have now passed “peak warmth” on the model runs. It’s all downhill from here, depending on your perspective.

See why forecasting is so hard? I swear when I finish, I will just forecast for fun. Lol. On that note, Thursday was the day to start paying attention to the global and high res models.

Yeah all of my local Mets including NWSLC has dropped any and all freezing rain and/or ice for my area. (Beaumont). Temps still there but no ice which is positive sign for traveling. If these models have the new overnight aircraft info, looks like we in the Golden Triangle may have dodged the dicey part of this. JMO
