Equivalent of a CAT 2-3 eyewall heading into Houston. Radar indicated winds 120 mph gusts.

It’s letting up somewhat now. Heavy wind.
Flood control just sent a text message that Fairbanks White Oak gauge just measured 1 inch in 15 minutes.

Tornado Warning issued May 16 at 6:34PM CDT until May 16 at 7:00PM CDT by NWS Houston/Galveston TX

The National Weather Service in League City has issued a

* Tornado Warning for...
Northwestern Galveston County in southeastern Texas...
Northeastern Brazoria County in southeastern Texas...
Southeastern Harris County in southeastern Texas...

* Until 700 PM CDT.

* At 634 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado
was located over Magnolia Park, or over Second Ward, moving
southeast at 45 mph.

HAZARD...Tornado and quarter size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed.
Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree
damage is likely.

* This dangerous storm will be near...
Pasadena, Deer Park, South Houston, Galena Park, Jacinto City,
Cloverleaf, Clear Lake, Channelview, Greater Hobby Area, and South
Belt / Ellington around 640 PM CDT.
Western Baytown and San Jacinto State Park around 645 PM CDT.
Webster, Morgan's Point, and The Johnson Space Center around 650
PM CDT.

Other locations impacted by this tornadic thunderstorm include Minute
Maid Park, Discovery Green, TDECU Stadium, and Shell Energy Stadium.
Instructions
TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest
floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a
mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter
and protect yourself from flying debris.

Got really bad here in Cypress. Sky got green fast then pitch black. Bad hail storm (pea size) and wind. Rain has passed but still really windy. Been without power for 45 minutes.

So much for Matt Lanza… This is by far the strongest winds I’ve ever seen outside of Hurricane Ike. There is damage EVERYWHERE the scariest situation I’ve been in weather wise.

Yes - Storm chasers are comparing this storm to Ike-level damage.

No worries man lol we barely caught the southern edge of it over here. I feel we will pay big time for missing out on all this rain lately come later this summer. Mother Nature has her way of balancing things out.

We got lucky up in CLL with lots of rain only. The two supercells that came through produced the darkest skies I've ever seen caused by any T-storm.
