Re: December-Mid Week Canadian Front & Looking Toward Christ

I like winter weather too. Anything but freezing rain, unless it can be followed by some good snowfall.

Re: December-Severe Thunderstorm Watch Until 1:00 PM

I've said this before. If you frequent the comments of some forecasters, it will drive you insane. They change their mind as the models flip and flop, sometimes daily. If you are going to forecast using such means, the idea is to look for trends/ consistencies. That, or go find yourself a real old f...

Re: December-Damp Mild Weekend/Cold Christmas?

We will be in this sort of rollercoaster pattern for the foreseeable future. Just going to have to wait to see if January will actually lock in winter like weather. . We have moved from a stagnant pattern to a more progressive one, meaning better chances for rain, and now these cold snaps. That also...

Re: December-Progressive Pattern Continues/Stormy Period Ahe

Well it is looking less likely that the 20s being forecasted for tonight will actually come to fruition. Funny how quickly things can change. Last night things looked very chilly. Not to suggest that 30s is warm.

Re: December-Freeze Warnings 12-11/12-Central/SE TX/SW LA

Wow! I seem to be having some strange problems with the forum, Srain. Can you help me? Doug Delony, KHOU11 Web & Social Media Producer has been working very hard the past couple of weeks and we have completed a major platform upgrade. There are some changes and more are likely to come as we con...

Re: December-Freeze Warnings 12-11/12-Central/SE TX/SW LA

So, Srain, are you of the opinion, like some on other forums, that this could be a good year for snow chances for a larger part of Texas?

Re: December-Freeze Warnings 12-11/12-Central/SE TX/SW LA

Folks, low to mid 30s tonight, especially north of the beltway. Pets and plants. You may need to add pipes to that for Tuesday night as we flirt with the possibility of mid to upper 20s about the area.

Love the house, Srain.

Merry Christmas, everybody.

Re: East Coast High Impact Hurricane/Post Tropical Storm San

Hype? Maybe. In terms of the storm itself, she will go in as a minimal hurricane. I've been reading some of the terms and words that are being thrown around about Sandy across various places on the Internet, and they are borderline rediculous. In terms of impact, however, this could turn out to be q...

Re: September. Heavy Rainfall Event/Flooding Possible 9/28-3

Porter, Montgomery County did not get left out with this event. Harris and Montgomery Counties are really getting a soaking. Top that off with a line of activity forming to the west and heading in our general direction. I hope everyone got something out of this event. Porter has been mostly dry for ...

Re: 2012 Atlantic Hurricane Season General Discussions

I've been watching the remnants of Isaac since he began to move out northward. It was obvious he was going to loop and get back into the Gulf. The question now is, what happens with the leftovers. We have a front coming down. If this system can interact with said front, it should pick up whatever th...

Re: Hurricane Isaac: TS Watch Extended To E Of High Island

Folks, I hope we all don't lose focus on what has been occurring with Isaac. We've had this person, that person, this and that model, and the only Professonal entity that has been spot on is Dr. Neil Frank. Isaac will not move north until there is an opening for him to do so. He will remain stationa...

Re: Hurricane Isaac: TS Watch Extended To E Of High Island

Channel 13 has bumped chances for rain for Thursday and Friday. Channel two has not budged. Channel 11 Mobile web site says Isaac moved into LA, and have the same rain forecast as channel 2. Okay, what is up with that?

Re: Hurricane Isaac: TS Watch Extended To E Of High Island

The 10 pm NHC advisory indicates northwest movement still at 8 mph for Isaac. You can call it a wobble or whatever you want but recon clearly confirmed that this thing moved southwest for about 15 miles and the center is actually back out in the Gulf. NHC may be selling but I ain't buying. Sorry. R...
