The ensembles have more of a - EPO/ slightly negative PNA, and the TPV anchored over hudson bay with a trough centered over the central US, MJO swings through phases 1-2-3 in march which are cold phases, its going to be pretty difficult to get big cold down here in march obviously, but below average through the first half of the month looks a little more likely now

It’s not that difficult to get extreme cold here in early March. You’d be surprised. We got down into the teens before in early March.

Houston are had a big winter storm on March 3rd in 2014 I believe .

College Station had snow in late February 2010. Also, March 2009? My daughter will have the year right.
