Before 1900 Galveston and Katrina there was 1886 Indianola Hurricane. It is one of the most intense hurricane to make landfall. Only Katrina, Andrew, Camille, and 1935 Labor Day Hurricane are more intense. 1886 had a drought, likely one of the worst besides 1917-1918, 1950-1957, and this one. 1886 had a huge freeze earlier that year. It did end the drought too. Perhaps, we could be seeing a repeat of 1886? 1886 had four hurricanes hitting Texas, the most prior to 2004. Also, Florida was hit by 3 hurricanes and within days apart in same location! Talk about that happening today.
