Anyone care to weigh in on what you think will be the coldest night, and how cold it will be at IAH with this particular frontal passage?

My guess is 39, early Saturday morning.

I think these will be the lowest readings observed the next 2 nights...

45 at Bush.
36 at Conroe
44 at Sugar Land
41 at Hooks
56 at Galveston.

The combination of clear skies, dry air, and light to calm winds will favor some cool/cold temps. I'm with Srain on this one by also calling for 30's Saturday morning. Certainly low 40's. That could change, however, if the above mentioned factors do not hold.

Bundle up, newbies. Poor, wxman... Chillin'.

Probably a 49 for IAH tonight with winds staying up, but I could see IAH reaching around 40 tommorow night. The record low for tommorow morning is 39. Too bad that isn't the record for saturday morning, as we'd get very close to it. The record low for saturday is 33.

Looks pretty good for some low temps over the next couple of days:

Well 49 was the low last night at Bush. I still think Bush will be 'warmer' than predicted. I'm sticking with my guns and saying 45.

There is now a possibility of a light wind tonight. If we get that, then 30's may be a stretch. I'd say low to mid 40's. No wind and we still bottom out in the 30's.

That's my take, anyway. You could be right, candy cane. Chilly, none the less. No? ;)

Well I've just noticed that HGX has been forecasting cooler temps than have been recorded. While it will get cold tonight, it seems that the bulk missed us to the east. We will have the high settling in on top of us tonight and there is no doubt that areas around Houston will see 30s, I just think AT Bush, the temps will bottom out around 45. I hope I'm wrong though! The colder the better. I hope we hit 28 tonight! LOL

Where I am, Montgomery County, especially Conroe should see 30's. The airport is just a focal point. I think I'll make final call after sundown when we see what the wind will be like across Harris County. I guess folks realize we are talking about the big airport. Depending on where you live, their temps could vary a bit. One example is indeed Conroe.

The bulk of the coldest air did not go east. The low in Mobile, AL was 49, 50s in the FL Panhandle, and it was 46 at the warm biased IAH. The driest and coolest of air slid down the Plains, as the high pressure was sent south instead of east. Not sure why you think everything went "east". :P

IAH at 1 am was sitting at 52, with a DP of 37. The DP at 7pm on Friday was 30. Winds were calm. DP in my area is ranging from upper 30's to low 40's. I expect 39 to 45 across the region. I'm anxious to see in the morning what the airport bottomed out at.

Well, Porter got down to 42. IAH came in at 46.9. It looks like RH levels steadily came up over night, as did the DP's. Conroe and Spring apparantly got 30's, as srain indicated for Hooks. It was for sure a case of where you were located in the area this go round.
Temps will warm again now across the region as we head into the work week. There is even a decent chance for rain coming up for a Monday/ Tuesday timeframe.

We will also be setting our clocks back the first Sunday of November.
Check it out... :)

Sugar Land: 40
Hobby: 47
