I got the following in my email today. It's from a private weather company here in Houston. The webinar is free:

Join us for a free, 20-minute webinar at 10:30CDT on Tuesday, June 1st - the first day of the 2010 Atlantic Hurricane Season. Hosted by ImpactWeather lead hurricane forecaster Chris Hebert, the webinar will cover some of the changes in the various seasonal forecast parameters that have developed over the past month. Because of these changes, we are going to be making a revision to our projected number of named storms, hurricanes and major hurricanes for the coming season. There will be a Q&A session at the end of the webinar. Registration is free, and a short video on the subject will also be posted and available for clients on the same day.

Adding the 2005 analog to this season appears to be the biggest news of the day from the webinar.

I was able to log on and view it but wasn't able to listen. Nice presentation.

Missed it. What did Mr. Hebert have to say?

I worked witha Rodolph Hebert at Halliburton in New Iberia. I think his dad is the the Louisiana DNR regional office on Kaliste Saloom, because how many Roddy Heberts can there be who aren't related?
Basically, all parameters are favorable for development (no El Nino, ECMWF pressure forecasts, record warm SSTs) and analog years (1966, 1995, 1998 and 2005) indicate plenty of storms. 18/11/5 - same numbers as mine at S2K.
