Chicago weather 26th, 27th, 28th
I am going on a college visit to the university of chicago next week and I was wondering what weather conditions I should be expecting? I know it's going to be cold but is it going to be icy or snowy?

Check back early next week. Too much uncertainty right now for any real forecast above low confidence.

Depending upon what that upper low does after exiting Texas next Thu/Fri, you could see some heavy snow up in Chicago on the 27th-28th. Too soon to tell if the heavier snow hits Chicago or passes to the south.
well I have my fingers crossed for the heavy snow! it would be nice to see some winter! Thank you wxman I always have a great deal of respect for your opinion

Looks like you can forget the snow. The storm system should pass well to the south of Chicago. I expect above-normal temps and no significant precip for your visit. Lows just below freezing Thu/Fri/Sat with highs near 40 Thu/Fri and in the mid 30s on Saturday. Could see a few snow flurries on Saturday, I suppose. That's short sleeve weather for the folks up there.
Actually it looks like i am going to see some snow on friday evening!
