Does anyone here remember the June 1973 flood event in Houston? 10 to 15 inches of rain fell over a large area in Southeast Texas.

I remember the 76 flood as we lived in Pearland at the time...I believe Alvin got like 40inches of rain or something crazy. We un tied our bass boat and puttered up the streets. I was only 5 at the time but remember the snakes and a bunch of them. I am scarred for life...
Alvin got 45 inches of rain from Tropical Storm Claudette in July 1979. The June 1976 flood was south of I-10 and up to 15 inches of rain fell in that event. The Texas Medical Center flooded. The 1976 event was caused by a Mesoscale Convective System (MCS) ahead of a June cool front. From there, it got cooler than normal.Paul wrote:I remember the 76 flood as we lived in Pearland at the time...I believe Alvin got like 40inches of rain or something crazy.
