Channel 13 has bumped chances for rain for Thursday and Friday. Channel two has not budged. Channel 11 Mobile web site says Isaac moved into LA, and have the same rain forecast as channel 2. Okay, what is up with that?

Looks like Isaac is pretty must stationary right now. Maybe, just maybe a slight movement to the North. Hard to tell. Should be able to know within the next 30 minutes. With the eye getting smaller, it could just be playing with my eyes.

Tim Heller and company believe we will see increased rain chances on Thursday and Friday as the Southwest flow develops when Isaac heads North of us and we get under a moisture fetch. I think it's gonna be a very close call. It all depends on Isaac at the moment. I specifically remember about a week ago that a few models were forecasting a storm skirting the coast .... makes me wonder if this is actually what is happening.

Edit to add:

LCH has the Beaumont area at a 100% chance for rainfall on Thursday. They paint a wet picture for Extreme SE Texas.

I'm thinking it's a coast hugger for now, unless that ridge really weakens like it's "supposed to". Even then....at what point does it weaken and pick Isaac up to the north?

A few things.

Was the ridge already supposed to weaken?

Was Isaac supposed to be stronger, earlier to feel and react to a weakening ridge?

Still West

I don't think the system is even moving anymore. Stationary or undetectable movement.

...CENTER OF ISAAC STILL OVER WATER...

AT 100 AM CDT...0600 UTC...THE CENTER OF HURRICANE ISAAC WAS
ESTIMATED NEAR LATITUDE 29.0 NORTH...LONGITUDE 90.0 WEST...OR ABOUT
60 MILES SOUTHEAST OF HOUMA LOUISIANA...AND ABOUT 70 MILES SOUTH OF
NEW ORLEANS LOUISIANA. ISAAC HAS MOVED LITTLE OVER THE PAST COUPLE
OF HOURS...BUT A SLOW NORTHWESTWARD MOTION IS EXPECTED TO RESUME
LATER THIS MORNING.
