I read somewhere (cant remember now if it was on this board or another one) that the High to the northwest of Isaac, the one thats supposed to be "protecting" us, is moving to the east. Which would put it north of Isaac. Wouldn't that cause Isaac to keep hugging the coast and keep squirting westward.
If thats the case then the slower Isaac moves the more west it goes?

Rip, that photo leads me to believe Isaac will have a hard time moving North.

It's funny....Gene Norman still has it moving NW while the doc has already stated he thinks it will hug the coast. It sounds like Gene wants to dismiss the "wobble."

I don't know how strong that ridge is...

Also, Neil did not seem happy with the NHC.

Yep, Doc chastised the NHC for not calling Isaac a cane yesterday. He thought people would take the threat more seriously.

Okay Rip i have several questions - will there be any reinforcements to the ridge you can clearly see its draped solid - how can Isaac move north against that....??? but I'm an accountant not a met LOL.

Thanks for posting picture - it shows what is going on and having a visual helps.

The 00Z GFS keeps Isaac hugging the Coast past Vermillion Bay for the next 30-36 hours before turning NW just E of Lake Charles.

Ticka, I don't know how strong that is...
Srain could answer that better than me, but it seems solid.

What's more frustrating is no Jeff updates.

Doc just offered his opinion and said it wasn't moving NNW....he thinks it will hug the coast.

Guys and gals - last night Doc told us not to write this one off - I think this man knows what he is talking about - his years of wisdom and experience are trumping over any model that is being run out there. He says it will hug the coast - I think that is what it is going to do.
Well put ticka, and i agree!

If that verifies it would be safe to say we would get some rain and some good winds in or close to Houston?

I don't know if I should make a pot of coffee, or go to bed.

Looks like the NAM is sniffing something out afterall...

This shows that Recon confirms a south to due west motion of Isaac.
