I think Bastardi stroked out before the advisory came out.

Thank god. That man has been driving me nuts on Twitter. Not bashing him by any means, because he is a good meteorologist. He is just obviously on the 'bias' side of things and has not done well at all with the forecast of Isaac. Hope he can get some much needed rest these next few days.TXStormjg wrote: Yep, and 'ole Joe Bastardi can rest easy now!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks SRAIN!srainhoutx wrote:As NWS Houston/Galveston mentions, there very well could be...djmike wrote:Question: I know everyone keeps saying model watching at this point is pointless, but if this storm is still over water (at the moment) and these models (the most credible ones) are showing a westward trend....then would'nt they STILL have some sort of influence to the NHC and the track? ....Trying to learn here. Thanks
THERE COULD BE SOME SIGNIFICANT
CHANGES IN THE FORECAST PACKAGE THIS AFTN IF THE 12Z GFS SUPPORTS
THE THE 12Z NAM.

Definitely seeing a West, maybe a slight wnw motion, but more of a due west in this radar image. Put a ruler up to the screen from where the center was in a horizontal direction. Moving right along my ruler.

Still NW...
According to the NHC, yes. TWC has even mentioned a few times in the past hour this has been taking a west turn in the latest frames.Rip76 wrote:Still NW...

Worrisome to see a rather interesting short wave (upper air disturbance) dropping SE from the Upper Mid West. It appears the ridging may be stronger N of Isaac and could have an affect on the future steering of which way the cyclone may move over the next 12-24 hours. We will see.
