Winter and Hurricane Season question

Historically and statistically speaking, when our area in the upper Texas coast has had an extreme winter event like we did in February, was our following hurricane season one where our area was hit with a hurricane? Thank you in advance.

This year has been dry and current drought conditions worsening points to a strong dominant ridge that may save us this season as far as hurricanes go.
