I just ventured outside for a bit. My gosh - that wind. Cuts right through you. Hoping we can get to all snow soon. After all this - come on now!Cpv17 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 15, 2021 12:37 am Well folks, I’m about to layer up and head outside! It’s about to be a blizzard here and temps are plummeting. Almost down into the teens here now and wind chills are about 5 to 10 degrees! The snow is right on my doorstep and I’ve been waiting my whole life for this moment! We’ve had snow here before but nothing like this! This will be near blizzard conditions!

Enjoy it Cpv! I was out late this afternoon walking the dog and with the wind, it already had the feel of being on a snow covered mountain.Cpv17 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 15, 2021 12:37 am Well folks, I’m about to layer up and head outside! Fascinating to watch the snow wall out west heading in our direction. What I have circled in blue under the mesoscale discussion is what I'm watching. Currently all snow and will be interesting to see if the intensity of it holds as it pushes ENE. If you have radarscope, you can play it from the KEWX radar and this would move right over much of Houston metro between 2-5am.
Also, it's really juicing up out there and the winds are fierce.

Radar shows there should be something falling where i am but I looked out and didn’t see anything falling. When is the heart of the snow supposed to fall? Woodlands near Budde rd.

Check out Blake’s update. Props to the KHOU team, clearly our town’s A-game for weather:

It's filling-in, but the big snow wall is a couple of hours away.christinac2016 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 15, 2021 12:52 am Radar shows there should be something falling where i am but I looked out and didn’t see anything falling. When is the heart of the snow supposed to fall? Woodlands near Budde rd.
I still can't wrap my head around the fact that it's 22F outside, it's snowing, and the wind is howling. I didn't think I would see this in my lifetime.
ALL snow now in Beaumont. Big flakes too.

Still getting drilled by sleet in CLL. Wall of snow is so close. Glad to hear areas around Houston and Beaumont are seeing snow. It's hit and miss.
15°F; DP = 10°F; NW 25 G 30 Still sleet with a very stubborn warm nose. Come to papa!

Reporting in from Nassau Bay area. Sounds like sleet and rain. Ice forming on building.

Wow, it's 24 in Port Aransas. The vegetation destruction is going to be unimaginable.
Man it sure looks like it may pull up NW of Houston. I’m looking at the lift as well.
Not snowing here in Katy, yet. But absolutely coming down in sheets with sleet. By far the heaviest sleet I've ever seen. Had a heavy sleet event in Oklahoma when I lived up there back in 2013, but nothing like this.
