February 2021: Arctic Outbreak/Warmup Begins
It’s going to have to be the feature out near San Antonio, because it seems like the gulf moisture is hit or miss.

I'm hearing it won't blow through that it's only going to clip the nw counties
Looking like exactly that.Kingwood36 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 14, 2021 10:34 pm I'm hearing it won't blow through that it's only going to clip the nw counties
That's not encouraging for us folks southeast of you.
It's dumping freezing rain, sleet, and snow here all at once. At 26 degrees, at nighttime, that's a recipe for an ice machine on the trees and power lines. I'm starting to get concerned about power outages now. This could be a real mess in a hurry if we don't change over.
You are watching the wrong channel. Lol Blake and David Paul are saying different.
Its snowing and sleeting in the Heights right now.
The KHOU weather team thinks otherwise. They have multiple inches in metro Houston.

Na I think the complex of heavy snow in san antonio will overspread the entire area not just the northwestern counties

It’s moving due west and it’s filling in out in front of it.
Team #NeverSummer
The freezing line has reached the coast - Surfside, Galveston, Bolivar are all at or below freezing now and the wind will be picking-up. Wow. Just wow.
It sure seems to have that “Skirting, North of Houston,” look.Stratton20 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 14, 2021 10:41 pm Na I think the complex of heavy snow in san antonio will overspread the entire area not just the northwestern counties

Exactly. Everyone will get a lot of moisture, but the farther north you go the better chance you have for snow.Stratton20 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 14, 2021 10:41 pm Na I think the complex of heavy snow in san antonio will overspread the entire area not just the northwestern counties
Now getting moderate to heavy sleet and snow accumulating everywhere here in the Heights. BTW the precip is probably 80% snow.

I see the same thing! The bands near kingsville are joining the massive band of snow in San Antonio. Therefore it’s literally a wall of snow that will be coming straight at us. I would say the whole viewing area is gonna get it big time!MontgomeryCoWx wrote: ↑Sun Feb 14, 2021 10:42 pm It’s moving due west and it’s filling in out in front of it.

Not sure what the skirting the NW viewing area is coming from.. radar says otherwise in a massive way. I have ice covering our street. The temp is dropping fast and the main line isn’t even here yet. Models are irrelevant right now.
We arent seeing much of anything here yet. I guess we will see what things look like at daybreak.

It sure is moving quick! Looks to end by daybreak to me. If the heavier returns out west don't fill in further south, I could see the heaviest stuff skirting the nw part of the county like the hrrr is depicting. There are a lot of returns in front of it though so will see what happens. Also there is more sleet than anything currently and a temporary dry slot moving in too.
All of this is correct. CurrentlyTexasBreeze wrote: ↑Sun Feb 14, 2021 11:09 pm It sure is moving quick! Looks to end by daybreak to me.
