Light snow in Fairfield in Cypress.
Center Point Energy beginning to report power outage where the freezing rain has been occurring. Look for coverage to expand as freezing rain begins to fill in more over into Houston this evening.

What time is the main player suppose to push through?
FZRA and sleet will continue off and on across the region through midnight. Sometime after midnight precip should begin transitioning to snow from west to east and be moving out of our region around mid morning. If you're wanting to catch some snow, get up early.

Is it just me or does it look like the system out near Dallas looks like it's hauling butt down here faster that forecast? Is that our system or is it the low out in New Mexico spinning?

Encouraging trends for SW Houston. NWS has been bumping up snow totals a bit and reducing freezing rain from nearly 2/10ths of an inch to around a 1/10th of an inch.

Our main energy will be coming out of Mexico as large scale lift from the trough and the developing surface coastal low gets going. I'd look for the radar to really begin lighting up and filling in coverage here in the next couple of hours.Kingwood36 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 14, 2021 5:13 pm Is it just me or does it look like the system out near Dallas looks like it's hauling butt down here faster that forecast? I suppose I’ll be fortunate that my little circle of the woodlands won’t get anything but cold rain and keep power.

According to Mayor Turner - there will be rolling black outs throughout Texas. From 15 minutes to an hour - ERCOT is trying to keep from turning off electricity in key infrastructures like hospitals, police/fire stations, etc. Tonight/tomorrow morning/tuesday morning will be the key times.......JUST AN FYI

This is actually encouraging to hear. 15 minutes to an hour is a lot better than unplanned and indefinite.Texaspirate11 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 14, 2021 5:39 pm According to Mayor Turner - there will be rolling black outs throughout Texas.
