Hurricanes can hit Texas into October and November.djmike wrote: ↑Fri Sep 18, 2020 10:51 pm I just told a co worker on Monday, “We only have about 15 days left before our (Texas) season is typically done. I know that, but usually after sept we get our first fronts and storms USUALLY steer more east of texas. Yes I know the season goes to November...Ptarmigan wrote: ↑Fri Sep 18, 2020 10:52 pmHurricanes can hit Texas into October and November.djmike wrote: ↑Fri Sep 18, 2020 10:51 pm I just told a co worker on Monday, “We only have about 15 days left before our (Texas) season is typically done. I remember when Imelda was forecast to bring 5-6" of rain and got 30-35"....we still have so much debris and trees in ditches from Laura EVERYWHERE here. It will not take much to flood everyone again right now

Beta will move west as it will have no choice due to strong high pressure building in tonight/tomorrow from the front today.Rip76 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 18, 2020 11:05 pm I just don’t see how this hooks left

We all know and understand that Texas can get hit by storms into October and November, but climatologically speaking, it’s rare. For the most part, hurricane season in Texas is over after around the middle to late part of September.

00Z GFS shows more dry air entrainment and a weaker system in general, but interesting enough through 180 hours out the system is back East of Corpus and never fully ejects.
