Coming down big time here in Cypress. Radar sure looks active for a system that "Houston area isn't going to see anything" from. Our place in Oyster Creek down by Freeport has been getting hammered all morning. Tides are extremely high, and white cap's coming down the canal from videos I have been sent.

So it is raining in houston..lol..cromagnum you owe me a steak dinner lol
So what's the deal with the Houston office of the National Weather Service almost never bothering to issue a Hazardous Weather Outlook? There are outer bands from a minor hurricane hitting Harris County and yet they still are the only office in TX & LA between Baton Rouge and Lubbock to not have one issued today for most of their counties. LOL. This happens a lot.
It's not the end of the world or anything, but since being the only one not to issue them is typical for that office, I'm kind of curious as to why.

That was your bet. I never agreed to that if it rained LOL.Kingwood36 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 25, 2020 10:12 am So it is raining in houston..lol..cromagnum you owe me a steak dinner lol
Id have to find the post but someone was asking why the board was so quiet. The storm is coming nowhere near here is why.
Getting a couple of showers from rain bands is fine and beneficial. I'll eat up some crow if somewhere floods or gets rocked by a spin up tornado though.

That pier may be gone after Hannah has passed through. It’s going to take a day of beating.unome wrote: ↑Sat Jul 25, 2020 10:51 amtks - Bob Hall Pier in major flood per latest https://tidesandcurrents.noaa.gov/inund ... Whats the latest on gonzola and 92l?
Pretty hefty training band has now set up shop over Beaumont. Pipeline from the gulf. These winds gusts are stronger than I figured they would be. Surprised Jefferson county is not included on the severe weather risk map nor the tornado threat outline. So far everything is manageable, but man I forgot how fast tropical systems dump rain. This brings back memories of 2017. Stay safe everyone.

Looks like some bands filling off the coast as it rotates into Galveston, Brazoria and locations inland
