don't want to get too far ahead but any thoughts about Gonzalo??
Not sure Gonzalo survives the Eastern Caribbean. It ingested dry air to the West and looks terrible today.
The tropical wave that exited Africa overnight may have a chance of being our next tropical mischief of concern as August begins.

We will have to watch over the next day to see how large and expansive future Hanna gets. Since the storm is likely to make landfall south of us the more broad the storm the higher potential for impacts to Southeast Texas. One thing I've noticed is that the storm is pulling a lot of moisture on its dirty side, it looks almost like a monsoonal tropical cyclone.

It would have to be a pretty small system to hit Corpus and not give us anything imo.
Yeah, we need a wave or disorganized circulation up in the Brazos Valley if we can get some SE flow. A tighter storm will be a bust for us.
I'm really skeptical about the 80% and 70% rain chances this weekend. We'll see.
I doubt your area will get anything. I might not even get a whole lot and I’m 2 hours south of you.
It's a double whammy. Temps are about 6-8° higher than yesterday. We had 3 days of cloudy, more pleasant weather.
Back to the usual Texas summer broadcasting!

"Hannah" is the best lookin tropical depression I've ever seen.
my thoughts as well
Yeah...and naturally to get rain this far north, Hannah would need to be the worst looking tropical storm ever.

The latest CPC forecast looks fantastic!! Although it’s a scary look if it holds up because it would favor tc’s to be headed our direction.

Doesn't look like we will get much this way from what I'm reading
Yeah the ridge to our north is pushing everything south.

Space City Weather has now lowered our rain forecast for the weekend and their flood threat scale. They also call for a landfall south of Corpus.

Well today, every sign has continued to point to this going down into Corpus or even S of there. Things can change but I don't see any reason for a significant track change at this time and likely won't tomorrow.
We may get some showers out of it and winds/surf will be higher but all in all, confidence has been growing throughout the day that this is going to be a minimal to non event here except for locations right along the coast that will have higher winds and higher surf/tides.
