April 2020
Foggy as all get out today
For areas south of 10, I think most of us will have to wait a while before we get anything significant.
Heavy cloud. No rain?
https://youtu.be/1T0tJnaUhU8
Multiple systems through early May skirt the area. Definite maybes.

To take a line from one Darth Vader, "the cap is strong with this one".
Right on cue... percentages dropped remaining of today and tonight for rain here in Beaumont.

I was just gonna say, the cap sure is holding for central and southern areas. My rain chances the rest of the day went from 70% down to 40%...
I was hoping for another shower today but as long we don’t go for weeks and weeks without rain I’m hoping all will be OK. I’ve had 2.26” for April. Not a ton of rain but considering there have been so many recent Aprils that were like the Indian pre-monsoonal drought, I’ll take it.

Bryan got a soaking. Still a bust IMBY.
North Louisiana and MS will probably see severe weather. SETX appears high and dry.

SPC just issued a new MCD - a new watch will be coming shortly, but other than that, that was about the most useless MCD I’ve ever read.
IMBY Ive gotten 0.54” for the month of April. I need a gully washer very soon!

Have to wonder what's kept the cap in place so much this year. Don't need the flooding rains, but it's a bit of a head scratcher for me.jasons2k wrote: ↑Wed Apr 22, 2020 4:33 pm I was just gonna say, the cap sure is holding for central and southern areas. Been this way for years. Most years the failure to bust the cap gets blamed on cool shelf waters leading to an overcast sky and boundary layer. But that’s not the culprit this year...txbear wrote: ↑Wed Apr 22, 2020 5:10 pmHave to wonder what's kept the cap in place so much this year. I think with global warming, we are seeing a more persistent springtime mean storm track to the north of here, earlier in the season, and we just miss out. We just don’t get the jet dynamics at play like we used to.
When’s the last time we had an actual triple point come through SE Texas? I bet it’s been so long ago nobody could answer that without looking it up. Probably couldn’t even guess the year. That’s how bad it’s gotten.
A few mini cells, like the tail end of Balrog's whip just paid us a visit. We may see 0.25-0.35 in after all. We would clear 3 in of rain for April. Good enough.
