December 2019: Warming Trend/Weekend Rain/Christmas Outlook
What beautiful weather! It’s always nice when you pick up relatives at the airport and they go on and on about how gorgeous it is outside. Went cruisin’ with the windows down and moonroof open. Merry Christmas everyone!!
I remember the 2004 event very well! I was outside sitting on our front porch when the first flakes started to fly. Will go down as something I’ll never forget! Especially for my region in Wharton County. We got dumped on! One of the best days of my life, for sure!

Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas everyone!
The GFS has been hinting for the last 3 runs or so of a motherload of cold coming down around January 11th. The 12Z run indicates it as well. That's fairly consistent, especially for that far out. Anyone else notice this?
Yes and the warm biased Euro has also been turning colder towards the end of its run.

Again, follow the Pacific trends and you’ll follow our source (or lack of) of cold. I’m standing by my original prediction of a solid blast of cold air materializing the end of the first week of the year.

Right now anything under 65 is a WIN lol....I still think we dont see anything like we did in November for the rest of the season. It just isnt there this year.
It is very cold up in Alaska. It is below -50°F!

It is no wonder it is warm right now.

Santa sure delivered some warm weather up north
It was in the 50's/60's - thought I was home here in Texas!!!
We could use some rain though -

The meteorological winter is Dec-Jan-Feb. We are almost 1/3 of the way through it. I’m aware and your post doesn’t address my sentiments. I’m addition, our most active winter weather timeframe (actual events) is from late January through the 3rd week of February.jasons2k wrote: ↑Sat Dec 28, 2019 4:51 pmThe meteorological winter is Dec-Jan-Feb. I’ve lived here over 30 years and all 3 accumulating snow events for me happened in December. I’ve had zero luck those other months.MontgomeryCoWx wrote: ↑Sat Dec 28, 2019 8:25 pmI’m aware and your post doesn’t address my sentiments. We are talking winter weather, not just snow. I had accumulating snow 2 Januarys ago. Can’t remember if it was 2013-2014 or the following winter but we had something like 7 events that Winter... mixed bag of stuff, but still.Cpv17 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 28, 2019 9:35 pmI’ve lived here over 30 years and all 3 accumulating snow events for me happened in December. You live in a bad area for snow, period. I’d bet my chances are a lot higher (albeit not great).
