Finally stopped raining in Kingwood. Neighborhood streets and yards flooded. Another 15-20 mins of rain like it was falling would have meant a flooded home for me.

HGX believes after what we've seen today with very effective rainfall rates, a widespread 5 to 8 inches is possible through Sunday with isolated higher amounts of 9 to 12 inches certainly possible.

Severe Thunderstorm Warning in the Brazos Valley near College Station. Folks these storms have had a history of a couple of quick spin up unconfirmed tornadoes, so be careful out there

Heavy rainfall moving through Southeast Texas today. Street flooding may occur in some locations.

PLEASE don't drive into flooded roadways as the water may be deeper than it appears. In addition by driving through a flooded roadway your wake may flood other vehicles.

I'm curious as to what is keeping Houston proper relatively dry between these thunderstorms. Hard to believe there is still capping in place with these storms all around. Is it subtle boundaries that just have anchored down to the north and south of town?
