* Until 100 PM CDT.
* At 1244 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a
tornado was located over northwestern Pasadena, moving northeast at
50 mph.
HAZARD...Tornado.
SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.
IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed.
Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree
damage is likely.

tornado was located near Pinehurst, moving northeast at 30 mph.
HAZARD...Tornado.

Looks like most locations across Houston got a half an inch to an inch. The line moved through fast enough that it really limited the flooding threat locally. The bullseye for heavy rain was really centered across the hill country where radar estimates up to 7 inches were reported. It looks like for the rest of the week warm conditions and sunny skies will be the primary theme. Next weekend we could see another chance of rain as a similar looking system rotates through the state.

Gusty winds are the primary threat. Looks like storms are moving quickly enough that most of the region should escape major flooding concerns. Could still see some street flooding.

Getting hammered in Beaumont. Strong straight line winds. First line registered 46mph imby. Second line coming shortly behind. That i have a feeling will be a doozy!
.94” here as we wind things down. Might hit 1.00” before it stops. Just rain, thunder, heavy rain, and some gusty winds here. The power flickered a couple of times but that was it - nothing major. The lawn will be happy now.
Second line here in Beaumont. Tree down next door. Wiped out my fence! Right now srill gusting highest winds in s cond line in 42mph. Neighborhood streets are flooded.
Left my side of town (Pasadena) around 12:30 to head to work. Was sitting at a red light near the Beltway while my SUV was swaying back and forth because the wind was so strong. Couldn't see a hundred feet in front of me it was raining so hard. Had my phone connected to my car/audio when I was startled from a loud emergency alert about a Tornado warning over my area. Haven't heard of any confirmation of a tornado actually touching down but was a little worrisome nonetheless.
As of 2:28pm about 139,000 people are reporting without power across the Houston area. Hopefully utility workers can get out to those areas and get it restored here soon. As the low moves over our area this evening, it will deepen as it moves east. With it deepening the pressure gradients will tighten and this could provide some fairly gusty winds overnight tonight into mid morning tomorrow. Any difficulty for the utility workers getting power restored here soon could delay them further. NAM 18z was a bit more aggressive with the winds (45+ knots) while the newest 00z run isn't quite as strong. HRRR is suggesting around 30kts.
Beautiful spring week coming up. Besides some wind tomorrow, Monday and Tuesday should be fantastic days with temperatures in the low to mid 80s with drier air filtering in. Humidity will increase by Wednesday ahead of our next storm system that will be here by the weekend.
Big weather story this week is going to be a significant winter storm in the northern Plains with 1-2+ feet of snow possible. Especially up in South Dakota and Minnesota. Euro has around a ~980mb pressure. Yikes!
