Unfortunately, it’s in every business these days. I work in health care technology and we are chronically understaffed, putting patents’ lives at risk. Everyone is trying to more with less people and more automation.

One end of the political spectrum hated science in the 70s...and now it's the other side. Funding has been increasingly iffy overall.
It won't make a difference until a noreaster or cyclone damages a Senator's home. It's too easy to put other people's lives and livelihood in danger.
