HRRR is stronger last run
Looks like Austin is about to blow up...
Any idea on the timing?
I believe Srain said between 7PM and 2AM if I recall correctly. I think it will just depend on when the precip develops and wheresambucol wrote:Any idea on the timing?
Looks like it's blowing up from Lake Travis to just west of CLL. Some Virga. Some maybe White Manna?snowman65 wrote:Looks like Austin is about to blow up...

EWX reports moisture increasing and visibilities dropping. Freezing drizzle and light snow now impacting some bridges and overpasses.

I've noticed a decent increase of blue spots on the radar in the last hour between Austin and Houston...almost moving due east..

HRRR is showing stronger and stronger reflectivity overnight. Even maybe a light dusting in some locations. With that said, the HRRR is notorious for providing too much moisture/precipitation.

Does this tell you this event may last longer than anticipated if areas out there are starting to get it? Or would we be on the tail end of it?Andrew wrote:Even seeing reports out of Dallas and San Angelo

No probably not. Maybe a couple hours of very light snow/mix but nothing dramatic. More of a sight seeing event than anything else.davidiowx wrote:Does this tell you this event may last longer than anticipated if areas out there are starting to get it? Time to start thinking about the morning commute, if this mess verifies. Make sure you and your family/friends/co workers check road conditions before heading out tomorrow morning.

I have a 740 am flight out of IAH to MSY. I might want to leave extra early if the HRRR verifies.
