Upper low seems to be picking up forward speed as it lifts northeastward.

That's very true. It'll be a race between storms reaching Houston vs upper low lifting out.

At the moment, I would say that folks south of I10, and east of H59, can pretty much forget about it. That "out of the woods" feeling could easily slip even further north and west than that. I'm not sure this event was ever meant to be a factor in the weather for most of this area. N.W. counties should pay attention. The rest of us should just watch and see what happens as this low passes by.

I have a friend in Cedar Creek and she said her weather was pretty horrible for awhile and it is still raining there

at this point i would say if your south of I-10 you have a 30-40 percent chance of storms, if your north of I-10 watch out.

Watching radar line expanding down NW Harris will get some strong storms.

Main rotation slipping a little east of tornado warning. Now just south of Keenan in Montgomery County.

Not sure how much rain will be able to develop over areas south of I-10 as it looks like there is some dry air being pulled northward across our southern counties which looks to be capping those areas off for the most part. There is a small line of activity trying to develop south through Waller and far WNW Harris county but it not having much luck. I think the heavy rain threat should be slowly winding down across the northwest through the afternoon with the possibility of additional development later tonight or tomorrow morning again.

Model soundings show a dry slow at around 750mb over the Houston area along with PW's down to 1.68'' which is suppressing any type of shower and thunderstorm development at this time. Soundings for Huntsville show PW's right around 2.00'' with a very moist profile.

As far as the severe threat is concerned...models continue to show decent shear values, especially across areas north of I-10 so an isolated tornado threat should continue for the next several hours.

You might see some rain, but unless the showers over northwest Harris county can manage to develop more, I think any significant weather should pass to your north.
