JUNE 2015 -Scattered Showers/Storms To End The Month
I think those models initiated further south than they should have. If I am seeing this right, the center is further N per recon than it shows on those models.
Looks like they may be flying a little North of the initalized center.
Looks like it is wrapping-up to me. I think we're going to see Bill very shortly.
The 00Z CMC shows a lot of rain for the upper Texas coast.
Appears to be moving rather quickly to the coast line

I believe that tweet was from the first pass down to the SW. The recent pass to the NE wasn't much more impressive though so there may not be an upgrade - just yet.
Recon just turned back E trying to close something off.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN HOUSTON/GALVESTON HAS ISSUED A
* FLASH FLOOD WATCH FOR A PORTION OF SOUTHEAST TEXAS...INCLUDING
THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES...AUSTIN...BRAZORIA...BRAZOS...
BURLESON...CHAMBERS...COLORADO...FORT BEND...GALVESTON...
GRIMES...HARRIS...HOUSTON...JACKSON...LIBERTY...MADISON...
MATAGORDA...MONTGOMERY...POLK...SAN JACINTO...TRINITY...

* FROM THIS EVENING THROUGH WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON

TUESDAY AS VERY RICH TROPICAL MOISTURE FLOWS INTO THE AREA AND
AN AREA OF LOW PRESSURE MOVES TOWARD THE COAST. WIDESPREAD RAIN
TOTALS OF 3 TO 6 INCHES CAN BE EXPECT WITH MUCH HIGHER ISOLATED
TOTALS. THE TRACK OF THE LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL HELP TO
DICTATE WHERE THE HEAVIEST RAINFALL AMOUNTS WILL OCCUR.
* THE GROUND ACROSS THE AREA IS STILL WET AND NEARLY SATURATED IN
SOME LOCATIONS AND IT WILL ONLY TAKE A SHORT PERIOD OF HEAVY
RAIN TO CREATE RUNOFF. STREET FLOODING WILL BE LIKELY DURING THE
WATCH PERIOD. SMALL STREAM AND BAYOU FLOODING THREAT WILL
INCREASE AS WELL TUESDAY AFTER A FEW ROUNDS OF HEAVY RAINS HAVE
MOVED INTO THE AREA.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A FLASH FLOOD WATCH MEANS THAT CONDITIONS MAY DEVELOP THAT LEAD
TO FLASH FLOODING. FLASH FLOODING IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.
YOU SHOULD MONITOR LATER FORECASTS AND BE PREPARED TO TAKE ACTION
SHOULD FLASH FLOOD WARNINGS BE ISSUED.

Just a heads up folks. Remember to remain weather wary throughout this event, whatever might unfold. Stay tuned to all weather (media) outlets and here for the very latest. This will be an ever changing situation, sometimes hour by hour. Also, remember to be patient, be vigilant and stay tuned.

Some impressive winds in the NE quadrant. RECON heading N likely for another pass. They're trying to locate a valid center, if there is one.

Are they going to issue Tropical Storm watches/warnings?
They will with the first advisory. But they need to close off a center to declare a T.C. and initiate advisories, first.davidiowx wrote:Are they going to issue Tropical Storm watches/warnings?

More than likely this will come when they do upgrade to BIll.davidiowx wrote:Are they going to issue Tropical Storm watches/warnings?
All the parameters are there except a well defined center, so just a matter of time.
Easy, grasshopper. Treat this as a rain event, with some wind, and hopefully doesn't stick around very long.davidiowx wrote:Are they going to issue Tropical Storm watches/warnings?
Thanks. I saw someone on another forum say the will be issuing advisories shortly. Wasn't sure if true or not.

They'll need to issue one for a small area of coastline that will experience those conditions if the storm continues to progress as it has. More than likely the Galveston coastline won't be in that area. Mainly rain for us, you are correct.Ounce wrote:Easy, grasshopper.
