May Weather Discussion.
Lightning and Thunder being seen and heard from my house in Sugar Land ..... looks isolated at best so the hope for any raindrops here at my house is pretty small.

I'm satisified considering dew points were only around 60 today, odds only get better for rain, albeit slightly through the week.
are the storms north of us going to make it down here? or will they fizzle out before then?

Probably fizzle, due to the loss of daytime heating.
Dang it...i want rain

Based on what was seen today all around us and isolated activity in the Houston area, I'm convinced that tomorrow and the next few days will see more coverage of T-storms .... so cross your fingers that you get rain. I missed out today by a hair.

Some good news!!
AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HOUSTON/GALVESTON TX
457 AM CDT THU MAY 27 2010
.DISCUSSION...
PERHAPS A BIT WETTER TODAY AS MID-LEVEL MOISTURE CONTINUES TO MOVE
IN FROM THE NNE AND A DISTURBANCE APPROACHES FROM THE NW. ALL THIS
COMBINED WITH DAYTIME HEATING AND THE SEABREEZE COULD MAKE FOR SCT
PCPN THIS AFTN/EVENING. SLIGHTLY DRIER AIR WORKING INTO THE REGION
FRI WILL HELP TO LOWER POPS TO AOA 20% ONCE AGAIN THROUGH THE WEEK-
END WITH DAYTIME HEATING/SEABREEZE AS THE FAVORED COMBO. BUT THERE
COULD BE SOME INTERESTING DEVELOPMENTS TO OUR ENE DURING THIS TIME
AS MODELS ARE PERSISTING DEEPENING/DEVELOPING A STRONG UPPER LEVEL
LOW. WHILE THIS SYSTEM IS PROGGED TO REMAIN WELL TO THE EAST OF US
CANNOT DISCOUNT THE IDEA OUTFLOWS/WEAK SFC BOUNDARIES MAKING IT TO
OUR NECK OF THE WOODS. HOWEVER LOW CONFIDENCE CONCERNING THIS WILL
KEEP POPS LOW THROUGH THE HOLIDAY WEEKEND. OTHERWISE EXTENDED GUID-
ANCE KEEPING THINGS LIVELY AS THEY TRY TO PUSH AN UPPER LEVEL LOW/
TROF ACROSS FROM THE W/SW AROUND THE MIDDLE OF NEXT WEEK. SOME DEV-
ELOPMENT OF THE SYSTEM AS IT MOVES OFF THE TX COAST DOES HINT AT A
BUMP IN RAIN CHANCES. BUT NOT GOING TO PUT ALL MY POPS IN THAT PAR-
TICULAR BASKET AT THIS TIME. WILL PLAY THE WAITING GAME AND SEE IF
LATER RUNS KEEP WITH THIS TREND. 41
Hello all...ok I know we desperately need the rain, but can someone tell me what the rain chances are for my area over the weekend? (I didn't know if there was a possibility of storms/rain that hasn't been mentioned yet) My BROTHER IS COMING HOME TODAY FROM IRAQ!!!!
We are wanting to have a get together for him and we were wondering if we would be able to have it outside by the pool or if it was going to have to be an inside party...Thank you all in advance for your help...

The forecast model NAM continues to show basically no cap over the weekend. Similar to what happened yesterday (and the kind of coverage we normally get in the summer,) some may get a shower while most will stay dry. Basically, the luck of the draw..
I'm happy for you, your brother & family! Thank him for serving our country for me!rnmm wrote:Hello all...ok I know we desperately need the rain, but can someone tell me what the rain chances are for my area over the weekend? I can see and even 'smell' the rain just to my southeast. Perhaps the water sprinkler will get a brief break today.

Happy Memorial Day Weekend folks. Here's hoping that we get some rain soon. Perhaps someone would like to tackle the June discussions?
