Changing over to mostly snow. Accumulating on elevated surfaces and grassy areas now. Surface streets are just wet...so far.

I'm having a real hard time believing these reports. TxJohn unequivocally told us earlier this week it wouldn't be cold enough to sleet or snow or anything. He said nothing would happen in SE Texas in terms of winter weather. ;)

Mixing with big ol sleep pellets as well...almost looks like graupel. It's accumulating. Doesn't look like it will last all that long but sure beats those 2 ice events we had!

Heavy sleet (large pellets) at 610/US 290 covering all elevated surfaces.

Temps. in Harris County still above freezing so accumulation will melt once precip moves out. North of freezing line accumulation may last longer.

Roofs, car tops and patio furniture are covered with this pesky white stuff we were assured would never happen. Never say never in the weather world... ;)
