I'm having a real hard time believing these reports. TxJohn unequivocally told us earlier this week it wouldn't be cold enough to sleet or snow or anything. He said nothing would happen in SE Texas in terms of winter weather.

Mixing with big ol sleep pellets as well...almost looks like graupel. It's accumulating. Doesn't look like it will last all that long but sure beats those 2 ice events we had!

Heavy sleet (large pellets) at 610/US 290 covering all elevated surfaces.

Temps. in Harris County still above freezing so accumulation will melt once precip moves out. North of freezing line accumulation may last longer.
