U sure? I didn't think the freeze line was threw there yet
A sub-freezing surface temperature is not required for sleet or snow. It's the temperature aloft that counts. The rain is falling through a sub-freezing layer just above the surface, thus the sleet.

There still remains a lot of mid and upper level moisture streaming in from the Pacific. The area of convection just W of Baja continues to spit out little pieces of upper level energy. The next disturbance is just W of San Antonio across the Rio Grande in Mexico headed our way. There are other upper disturbances riding along the stretched out trough back into California. While some areas may see a bit of a break, precip does appear to pick up in intensity during the overnight hours and tacking along and near the I-10 Corridor.

I've got 35.3 on my roof and LCPD is showing 34.0. They usually are 1.5 below me.

Yes, temp fall is slowing down. Thinking we hit freezing around 2AM and dont go much further.

They were getting light sleet earlier, but I'm not sure about now.
What's it doing on campus right now? Did enough sleet fall earlier to accumulate at all?

Multiple reports coming into EWX of many accidents along I-35 back to San Antonio from freezing rain. Also multiple accidents reported in Bastrop on the bridge over the Colorado River.

Can we still expect a sleet/snow situation north of I-10 in Harris County?

Some say a chance of snow....some are saying snow will only be further north around the college station area.

For those worried about the current 'lack' of activity west of Austin/San Antonio - reports of light icing now coming in out of Uvalde county, west of San Antonio; even under the lightest radar returns. Plenty of lift to get through, y'all.

Yea it accumulated on the benches outside and on all the light-poles. We are currently held up inside of the o&m building

Temps have been holding steady in Humble 36/37 for a few hours. Cold air advection has stalled. Will we even see the advertised lows of 28/30?
