Hey all...are there any other weather forum out there where just average folks can discuss and ask about local weather?
I have been around a long time and this board seems to be getting more and more for amateur and professional meteorologists to discuss their opinions and "guesses" (forecasts).
If a question is asked the answer...if it's answered at all, it a copy and paste post in "weather language" that most of us are not fluent in.
If this is now a forum for professionals or want to be professionals then fine...but maybe it should be moved to a private site and have something more user friendly for the general public to use on a local TV News site.
Is there a place for OUR LOCAL weather?

You can certainly ask your questions in March weather discussion thread. I'll do my best to answer in non-technical terms. Sometimes it isn't so easy for meteorologists to remember (or know) what it's like for the layman when discussing the weather.
I know what you mean about some of the posts I've seen here from meteorologists or amateur meteorologists. Lots of technical stuff - upper-level maps, skew-t diagrams, etc., and little in the way of explanation. We need to pay more attention to the average forum member who is NOT a meteorologist and make sure we explain anything we post that is more technical. Simply posting a complicated weather map or diagram without supplying a full explanation of what it means is of no help to the average person browsing this forum.
Another possibility is to create a thread titled "Ask a Meteorologist". Other forums have such a thread for non-meteorologists can ask questions about the weather in general or something related to a current forecast. The meteorologists here would answer the questions in non-technical terms that a layman could understand.
