Super Typhoon Tip

Here are Typhoon Tip images I found. It is several times larger than Katrina, Gilbert, and Ike! Think about that hitting us?!?!?!?! Look at between 277 to 292 and click GMS-1.

Tip was at her peak on October 12, 1979, which is 285.

A really large storm. It almost touches the equator. It stretches from 30 degrees North to the equator, while it is stretching from 120 to 150 degrees longitude east.

notice the pin hole eye ala Wilma / Charley / Andrew...good core but never got annualer...too spread out.

Tip's eye was 8 miles in diameter. It actually got larger after it was at its peak.

Really large storm with really cold cloud tops. Makes Wilma look wimpy.
