It's way too far out to have any confidence in a forecast. Check back here on the Monday or Tuesday before Thanksgiving.nowens wrote:I wanted to throw my one year old a party and thinking about a Pavillion at the park the weekend after Thanksgiving. Early indications suggest a strong storm complex sweeping across the area for the weekend following Thanksgiving. It is still a ways out and things can change, but something to monitor for those weekend party in the park plans...

Yes, it's definitely looking cold, cloudy, windy and rainy the Saturday after Thanksgiving.
Just saw the new 12Z GFS and it's not as bad, but does have rain/storms up until around noon on Saturday.

It does look like party plans in the park would be better for Friday. The trends today have been to slow the speed and deepen the trough/upper disturbance. In fact, guidance is trying to close off that upper low which would allow for rather chilly/breezy conditions once the front passes. If the models are even close to being correct and we are talking about a week from today, high temps may struggle to make the mid 50's next Sunday. We will see...

Trend appears to be for an earlier frontal passage Friday night, with rain ending by sunrise Saturday. Cold, windy day for Saturday, though. Still too early to be sure on the timing of the front/rain.

It's looking like the cold front won't make it through Houston until around noon on Saturday. So expect showers/thunderstorms Saturday morning, ending with the frontal passage. Turning very windy and colder Saturday afternoon. Probably no sunshine. Not a good day for a party at all. Friday would be much better.

Still looks rainy Saturday morning through early afternoon then turning sharply colder and very windy by 2pm or so. Not a good day to be outside at all. I still recommend tomorrow for the party. Sunday will be OK, too, rain-wise, but it will be quite cold and windy.
