It's difficult to get significant rain when the upper flow looks this way. Maybe better chances toward the end of the month when we see an uptick in tropical activity with a Kelvin wave. We will see...

We just can't catch a break to save us. Yesterday all the precip was along and north of the front. I was hoping today would be the same (since front is now south of us), but Noooooooooooo!! No rain for you:
From HGX:
From HGX:
BEST INSTABILITY AND CONVERGENCE TODAY SHOULD BE ALONG AND WEST OF THE BOUNDARY WHERE 20% POPS WILL
BE CARRIED...GENERALLY WEST OF A LINE FROM COLLEGE STATION TO SUGAR LAND TO FREEPORT.

Don't expect rain through next week, folks, with the exception of maybe a few showers. We still do not, and will not have favorable conditions. Hopefully something will come along to change that. Better to know the facts and not be disappointed again.

Sure is looking that way. The difference here, vs. there, is they are supposed to be dry. For us, change will come at some point.
geeze it used to be a drought "statement", now it's a novel http://www.srh.noaa.gov/productview.php ... n=0&max=61

There is a fairly robust short wave heading E out of Mexico this morning. That feature should cross the area tomorrow into Monday and just perhaps increase our rain chances. Fingers crossed...

It's raining in Stafford! Not sure how long it will last, but will take what we can get. I even took pics of my car being wet.

When will the NWS radar be fixed? ugh

Better than nothing, indeed. Some folks are getting wet today. I'd forgotten that radar has many colors. Of all times for HGX to be down.

This batch is falling apart, especially on its eastern edge. Looks like it may just skirt me. Good luck, folks. Glad to see some of you seeing at least some relief.

.AVIATION...
A DECENT AMOUNT OF PCPN IN/AROUND THE TAF SITES SO FAR THIS MORNING AND AFTN. WILL BE KEEPING A CLOSE EYE OUT ON THE DEVELOPMENT TO THE WSW...AS THE CURRENT TRENDS WOULD SEEM TO SUPPORT PERHAPS ANOTHER ROUND OF PCPN LATER THIS AFTN. AS FOR THE FCST OVERNIGHT WILL OPT TO GO WITH PREVIOUS FCST AS THE LOSS OF HEATING WILL BE KEY IN ALL THIS ACTIVITY DYING DOWN. AND THEN AFTER A BRIEF MVFR CIGS/VIS DURING THE EARLY MORNING...MODELS ONCE AGAIN GOING WITH PCPN TOMORROW...BUT A BIT MORE WIDESPREAD. HARD TO ARGUE AGAINST THAT ATTM GIVEN THE CURRENT TRENDS. 41
