July: Week of 25th - Don Near S TX/ Hot & Dry
Maybe with the moisture in place and more sun this morning we can get some real storms later today.
I did get .01" today. The storm died *just* before it got here. I could see the white curtain of rain literally as close as a couple of football fields away from me...

Seeing some rain showers in Stafford. Rains, than clears, clouds move in, more rain.
Just so you know, Kingwood just got pounded! Haven't seen this king of weather in a year... best part, no sprinklers for another 3 days!

I got robbed today. Some promising storms were headed towards the house but then suddenly they all evolved into a line and pushed east towards Liberty.
I was so excited, I even took a picture of the rain.
I don't know how much we got, but at one point it was coming down pretty hard. Looks like it is clouding up again. Can we hope for another shower?

I've been a lurker on these forums for awhile. You always seem to get robbed. Not fair is it? So sorry... I'll try to push some your way. These storms are very odd. Wednesday, I stopped by the dry cleaner, it was POURING rain, my house was dry. The dry cleaner is only about 6 blocks from my house.jasons wrote:I got robbed today. Hellacious storm here in kingwood - thunder and lightning and all that good stuff. Rained pretty solid for about 30 minutes and wracked up 1 inch! Thats three whole inches this week!

I'm glad to hear Kingwood got in on the action. I was out there early last week and it was bone dry - worse than the Woodlands area.

Pouring here in the Memorial area, with some decent winds/lightning.

Ed filled in quite well for you talking about models and stuff with 90l.

Our eastern and northeastern zones look to have the best chance for rain this afternoon and evening as local RUC analysis indicates a good amount of low level convergence over those locations. The latest radar trends would suggest a slow increase in activity over Polk county. Just your typical isolated pop-up sea breeze showers will be possible over the next several hours around the metro area.
Storms are going-up over Montgomery County now. There is decent coverage today.
I see some rain is coming. Let's hope everyone gets it.

Heaviest t-storm of the year in NW Harris County. Frequent lightening and very heavy rain with gusty winds.

Same here - dropped a quick .65" and the heaviest stuff was just to me E/SE. Still, I was inside the heavy rain curtain for a change
I can't believe I actually saw some lightening! Woo-hoo!!

And today's winner is.......
Ding, ding, ding....MY YARD! Finally.

Yikes. Still ...without power. Heck of a hail storm. Jason, the pool splashes looked like something you'd see in Lubbock. Nuts...
