I'd keep an eye to our N and NE as the afternoon wears on. A nice boundary is evident on radar visible imagery. Also another convective complex is firing in N LA...

Indeed!

Notice the ULL in the Gulf, as well as the activity to our north and northeast. LA may indeed be a breeding ground for what is to come around here later on.

KSHV radar in shreveport depicts the activity very nicely.

I officially hate summer. I am sorry Wxman57, but I am worn out from these temperatures. Goodness gracious. I can take 1-3 degrees above normal for maybe 10-15 days during the summer, but every day 5-7 degrees above normal. Sheesh.

A certain tv weather personality just said that he didn't think those storms we are seeing entering liberty county right now would make it here - they only look to be increasing in intensity to me, surely with all the heating and sunshine we have had today we would have a pretty good chance, right?

Well the NWS did not think so either earlier today...

NEAR-STATIONARY CLUSTERS OF SHOWERS AND EMBEDDED STORMS OVER WESTERN
LOUISIANA AND FAR OFFSHORE WATERS...OR SURROUNDING THE CWA ...THAT
HAVE FORMED AHEAD OF AN ADVANCING SOUTHEASTERN U.S. PLAINS MID-LEVEL
TROUGH. REGION CURRENTLY FALLING IN BETWEEN ANY PRECIPITATION...OR
IS WEDGED BETWEEN THIS TROUGH AND A WEAK UPPER LEVEL NORTH CENTRAL
GULF LOW. ALTHOUGH THIS LOW IS AIDING IN DRAGGING THIS BOUNDARY SOUTHWARD
TOWARDS THE NORTHERN FA...SUBSIDENCE ALONG ITS WESTERN FLANK MAY BE
A RAIN INHIBITOR. TODAY`S DEEPER MOISTURE SEEMS TO NOT BE MUCH OF A
PLAYER AS GENERAL SUBSIDENCE FROM THE COLORADO-CENTERED 5H RIDGE WINS
OUT ONCE AGAIN.

I agree with that certain personality.

I see it splitting up already before it gets to Houston.

Typical.

Count me in on that! I was born and raised here, and I have lived here all of my life, so you would think I would be used to hot and humid summer, but this is getting ridiculous! Day after day after day of nearly and above 100 degrees. UGH, when will it stop?

The temps are fine, I'd take 95-100 degrees any day over a high in the 50s. But it would be nice to see something fall from the sky every once in a while.

Dang, it is not raining all over my house right now. Somebody is clapping their hands real loud outside too. Pesky amateurs we are calling for rain when the pros say no way.. Porter gets it again. Folks, lookout for homegrown activity to form over counties south and southwest of me as the outflow boundary pushes ahead this evening.

Gotta love it..

Showers are developing NE of the Metro area rather early in the day. Hopefully further development can get going along the sea breeze as the day unfolds...

Showers are popping up all around us now. I think many areas will see some rain today. Fires are mostly out, thanks to that band of heavy rain a week or so ago.
