Today marks the Ten Anniversary of the core rain events of June 8th-9th as TD Allison made a return trip S into the Houston Area. HGX Storm Signals has a nice recap of those events...

We had already moved to the Keys and had our home under contract to sell near the W loop when Allison came calling. We were scheduled to close that sell on the 8th. It took 2 days before a flight would open up back to Houston and we finally did get back, and found water came within 1 inch of ruining a newly finished 80K renovation job. Our neighbors next door and across the street lost their homes to lot value. We were extremely fortunate, compared to many.

Ten years ago tonight, heavy rain was falling hard from Allison. It was a long night that I will never forget.
