Can someone confirm which site (IAH?) will be used to record official snowfall accumulation for historical records?
Are you talking about current records? Official snowfall records for historical records are from KIAH. Before it was the Houston Weather Bureau Office.txsnowmaker wrote:Can someone confirm which site (IAH?) will be used to record official snowfall accumulation for historical records?

Just read Larry Cosgrove's take on tomorrow and into Friday. I've said it openly here in the past but I'm not sure why that dude is allowed to make forecasts. Hey, he could be right but man, it seems that he is way more wrong the right since I have been reading his forecasts. I think he likes to be different which in turns makes him wrong most of the time. I think he needs a swift kick in the nads.

Thanks Ptarmigan. Yes--I was asking in regards to amounts that will be recorded from the system about to move through tomorrow/Friday. Sounds like IAH.Ptarmigan wrote:Are you talking about current records? Official snowfall records for historical records are from KIAH. I totally agree! I know it isn't easy to guess what Mother Nature has in store and you try to guess correctly given all the tools you have, but in the end, none of us really knows what is about to happen. One thing I do know, it doesn't make any sense to argue over it all. We will all find out what happens very soon. Thanks for explaining the scientifics to those of us who aren't scientific.

On another note, does anyone know whether we will be having any more rolling blackouts? I have to get up very early in the morning and without my alarm, it isn't gonna happen.

Sorry for all the questions, but does anyone have the HGX criteria for issuing a Winter Storm Warning?

Thanks CC. Is there a time window associated with that (i.e. within __ hours)?
