As progged last week on upper level and temp. anomalies - Alaska is heating up by April 4, so there's a better chance at a strong FROPA and line of storms reaching SETX. The only fly in the ointment is a late Saturday arrival that could diminish rainfall.

Showers south of the metro were a nice surprise this morning. I didn't get any in League City, but still nice to see. I laid sod down on Sunday, so I'm really hoping for a nice dose of magic sky water through the weekend to help my water bill somewhat.

Nice sea breeze, but won't get here even with juicy air.
Rain chances are down to 50% tomorrow. Saturday's front is probably in the evening now. As expected. I've lived here too damn long. So predictable.

Don's forecast - not so boring:
.KEY MESSAGES...
Updated at 638 AM CDT Wed Apr 1 2026
- Severe storms expected by early this evening and into the
overnight hours. Potential hazards:
-- Large hail (> 2")
-- Damaging winds (70-75 mph)
-- Tornadoes
The good news is that the FROPA on Saturday has a little juice. Cooler weather should last more than a day! Possibly 3-4. We might snowplow our way into rain with its passage, even if in the evening.

Awoke to the glorious sound of rain. Not a passing morning drizzle, either., and a radar that shows more to come. So very thankful.

There's wet stuff falling from the sky. The Elders called it "rain."

Wow. The line of storms made it to the dreaded Hwy 1*5 and are retreating east.
I was surprised the MCS held together until now. The Mesos were iffy on it. 1.5 inches and counting in CLL. We'll take it!
OTOH...There's local flooding out in the streets. TAMU is a mess right now.
Feast or Famine. Saturday's line looked more potent. We'll see.
