You’ll very rarely see global operationals pick up on a winter storm for our area. Usually the mesos are the ones to pick up on it once we get inside of 2-3 days.

Next weekend progs will change from run to run, but gotta love the south Texas masterpiece that GEM is offering.

Temp holding steady at 37.7 for a couple of hours. Not surprising given this is what little peak heating we'll have today from the sun. Temps should start to drop-off again soon, then more rapidly after sunset.

Interesting to see the cold-front(s) sweep-in from the north and the west on Brownsville radar. We'll start to see that drier air from the NW seep-in this evening, which will lower dew points here.

I dont think my area is getting much of anything with this storm, which is fine with me! Yeah it will be cold a few mornings but highs around 40 each day..

The sounding from tamu 21z shows a thick warm nose about 55 degrees f. That is hard to erode with a sw flow. Gotta get a more northerly flow to weaken that.

Good news is that the meso models are cutting back on the intensity and accumulation of icing across the Hill Country, East Texas and into SE Texas.

Few of the runs earlier today were definitely concerning. However we're still walking a tightrope but at least some encouraging trends.
