16 drops were dropped into the system. The data should be ingested into the 0Z GFS and NAM models

This board was far more accurate about Beryl.don wrote: ↑Wed Jan 21, 2026 5:01 pmI don't know about the tropics, the way they handled Beryl was terrible...MontgomeryCoWx wrote: ↑ They are good with severe set ups and tropics. Eric seems to be a good guy. I can’t stand Matt, personally.
SCW and HGX convinced TAMU to hold classes in 4 hours of 40+ mph sustained winds and inches of rain during Beryl. I held my class online.

Nobody asked me, but I teach history. Lol. I am waiting on the GFS and NAM with ingested data from the drops. I have heard it increases the accuracy 10 to 20 percent.MontgomeryCoWx wrote: ↑Wed Jan 21, 2026 7:21 pmWhat do you teach?

0z runs so far are concerning especially in E Texas into Louisiana. Some of it is historic levels of icing.
GFS will certainly be interesting for our immediate area with the extra data from recon.
