Front has just passed my location in NW Harris County. 76 degrees before the front, for the record.

Nice temp drop. About 15 degrees in 10 minutes. Not too shabby.

This is definitely fun stuff, but do you remember the blue norther at the end of November 2006? The temperature went from 73 into the 40s in an hour at IAH in the morning and then into the mid 30s by the afternoon... That is the biggest drop in a short amount of time behind a front that I can remember... I think parts of Central and North Texas saw some wintry precip, too

I do. And if I recall correctly we were gathered in the forum chatting away and watching the progress. Edit to add: temp now 58 degrees, here. A drop of 18 degrees in less than 1/2 an hour.

Yup. We did gather here. We were posting mesonet maps and drawing the cold front line on them... Fun day.

Looks like the front is through the Loop. Almost here now, within the next 20 minutes methinks

I had very little rain, pre frontal passage. But now, post frontal passage has brought light rain and drizzle and gusty conditions for those heading out tonight.

Truly exciting to see our setting the stage for winter.
I hope everyone had a very nice Thanksgiving. In giving
thanks to God for all the good in our lives, I pray for those
that could no longer be with us during these joyous times.
As we struggle with the memories, the families struggle even more.
My heart goes out to them on this Thanksgiving day.

RIP, Danny boy. It is about to get cold again.

I was standing outside as the front pushed through, and the wind went from basically calm to gusty out of the north. You could feel it just as the cold front passed how much cooler than air had become just minutes after fropa

I remember that one. Fall 2006 was El Nino Fall. It was also a wet Fall, especially in October. 2006 went from La Nina to El Nino, a rarity, which last happened in 1976.

It pushed through my area about 45 minutes or so before dark and the wind is really whipping now. It was 79 before the front hit and now the temp is waffling back and forth between 47 and 48 degrees. Not too bad. I have spent the past hour outside fixing blown fuses but I was happy instead of cussing like I usually do. Ok, I cussed a little bit but it was a happy cold front kind of cussing. :D
