I still see no signs of a warm December. Yeah, we have a day or two in the long range that touches 70 but that’s every December since I’ve been around.
Looks seasonal to a bit below then mid month and later look very interesting as the snowpack grows to our north.

34°F last night low at the casa. Mid 50s under sunny skies today. Nice, cool weather under perfect skies. MOAR.
Another disturbance mars the forecast Wednesday night and Thursday before another FROPA late Friday. Looks like a beautiful weekend...so more is indeed coming!

Models and Ensembles see zonal flow through mid month. Seasonable temperatures, except GFS - which warms toward the middle of December.
The last half of December - what will it bring?
After Friday - it looks like things dry out until mid-month.

I saw that. We are headed up to Grapevine 19-22. Maybe we'll see a piece of that.

interesting article.. someone care to break it down in simple terms for us?
A polar vortex disruption is on the way, and its magnitude is almost unheard of in December https://share.google/gFZdo78ZvjdiX8Uao

For long range, im pretty impressed with what im seeing in ensembles in terms of loading our source region with a lot of arctic air, also ensembles show the development of troughing NW of hawaii, that matters ALOT because that usually favors troughing over the central and eastern US, long ways out and a lot to watch, but this definitely looks like a very intriguing setup mid december and beyond
