You have ME to thank for the absence of tropical hellstorms during the height of this season.

We moved back to this area a year ago. Realizing that we were now back in the Entergy 'service' area, I knew that it was urgent to purchase a generator.

So I bought an 18kW unit, and sure-enough we to-date haven't had to fire it up due to a storm-caused multi-day outage.

You're welcome. Please forward your appreciation gift$ via paypal. :D

Welcome the club. We purchased our generator (26kw) right before Beryl (literally a week and a half). Did not get to use it. It was installed in October and fully operational by November. We have not had to fire ours up either ( although it does do maintenance runs every Wednesday at 12 noon). Wxman57 finally broke down and got one too. You never know....

So the next named storm is... Karen

As such, you can expect that it will...
  • Be very annoying
  • Be loud and desiring lots of attention
  • Hang around way too long
  • Not accomplish anything
This is the name of my ex, so I speak from experience. :D

Will she ask for the Manager of the National Hurricane Center? :)

Yep. And she will whine about too much shear and dry air, and demand a refund of all the heat content she spent.

And if you believe (ha!) today's 12Z GFS, take a look starting at hour 168 when she would make her appearance.

Yeah that's a new one for me... I didn't know they gave a name to a storm that was already subtropical. I thought they just continued to use the name of a storm after it became subtropical. My learning process continues... ;)

Karen has faded quickly as it formed.

My opinion and my opinion only, I think this is a bit premature. I understand in over a century of records, no hurricane has ever hit Texas, but I would never say season over.

It’s official, Houston: Hurricane Season 2025 is over!👋🌀
